Abstract

Orientalists have investigated the Isanid of Islamic hadiths. James Robson, a Scottish orientalist, has researched the formation of isnads in Islamic traditions and its widespread use among muhaddith scholars in the early Hijri centuries. He considers the evolution of isnads to be gradual, he considers the beginning of isnads in the 70s of the first century of the Hijri, but he considers the necessity of having a complete chain of documents at the end of the second century of the Hijri, and he believes that the isnads in the second century of the Hijri They have been made and combined with fake hadiths and attributed to advanced personalities and references to promote them.
In the present research, Robson's aforementioned views have been investigated with analytical-critical method. Through this essay, using historical and narrative evidence, it was proved that, contrary to Robson's view, the time of formation of Asanid hadiths was during the time of the Prophet (PBUH). In his review of Islamic hadiths, Robson emphasizes Sunni sources and did not use Shia sources in this regard.
