Abstract

Seclusion means disconnection from creatures and preoccupation with oneself, which is done in the human institution by comparing and evaluating his interaction with others; Therefore, when a person does not have a special family and social relations, he/she chooses solitude. Psychologists have divided the topic of seclusion into two types, positive and negative. The positive form of selective seclusion has many benefits in the teachings of the Quran, Hadith and psychology. The present research has evaluated the opinions of some psychologists based on the teachings of the Quran and Hadith with a descriptive-comparative method. According to the findings of this research, six benefits have been described of selective seclusion, which are: deeper self-awareness, deeper connection with God, contemplation of nature, learning and faster to do things, increased creativity and feeling more complete freedom. With the conducted investigation, it is possible to confirm the alignment and the same direction of some psychological opinions and the teachings of the Quran and Hadith and emphasize their non-contradiction, but their alignment and complementarity. It should be mentioned that in the verses and narrations of the infallible one, the otherworldly effects of seclusion have been explained and the time, actions, program and specific contents for it have been mentioned, which have been less discussed in contemporary psychology.
