The Single Reports (Khabar al-Wahid) constitutes a large volume of Muslim hadith heritage. How we assess their credibility is of particular importance. These Reports (Khabar al-Wahid) can be divided into two categories, jurisprudential and non-jurisprudential. In their validation, two different principled and epistemological approaches have been proposed. The present study with a descriptive-analytical method first explains these two approaches and explains the meaning of validity and its criteria from the perspective of each of them, and then in terms of these criteria and intending to achieve narrative perspective on the validity of Single Reports (Akhabar al-AahAd), the narrations of the Masumeens (infallible) (PBUT) has examined, and it came to the conclusion that the criterion for validation mentioned in the narrations for both categories of jurisprudential and non-jurisprudential Single Reports is "agreement with the teachings of the Qur'an and Sunnah.” Verification shows that this criterion is valid in both principled and epistemological approaches and has been the basis for the validation of narrations for many scholars. This criterion precedes and suffices over the examination of a document.
