The Female Tābiʿī Narrators of the Hadith al-Ghadīr from the Perspective of Allāmah Amīnī

Abstract

The event of Ghadir and its related issues constitute one of the most prominent and dynamic subjects in history, having faced various challenges across different eras. In any narration or report, the element that grants it high value and credibility is the narrator or narrators who transmitted it, as the judgment regarding the report’s authenticity, reliability, or weakness depends on this. The narration of Ghadir is no exception to this fundamental principle. This massively transmitted narration, in addition to its narrators from among the Companions, also boasts an abundance of narrators from the generation of the Successors (Tābiʿīn). This study examines the identities of the two female Successors mentioned in the works of Allamah Al-Amini (ʿĀʾishah bint Saʿd and ʿUmayrah bint Saʿd), the chain of transmission (isnād) connected to them, and the classification of the type of narration transmitted from them. Furthermore, by presenting evidence and contextual clues, it explains a potential historical error in biographical evaluation (rijālī). The research adopts a descriptive-analytical methodology, drawing primarily on historical, biographical (rijālī), and hadith sources.
