Knowing the narrator's religion is one of the influential components in narratology, which has always been the focus of scholarly scholars. Hafs bin Ghiyath Nakhai Ghazi, one of the companions of Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him), is one of the most famous narrators who, although he is a Sunni, has become famous, but he is suspected to be a Shiite based on some signs, and has gained supporters from scholars and jurists in recent centuries. The challenge in understanding the religion of Hafs has gone beyond a scientific discussion, and his narrations have also faced "rejection" in some cases. In this article, after going through the identification data of Hafs, we will first outline the views of Shiite scholars in different centuries about the religion of this narrator. After that, based on two components: "Analysis of the ancient texts of Rejjali" as well as paying attention to the clues and surrounding signs, especially the "textual analysis of Hafs narrations", we analyze the religion of this challenging narrator. The result is that, based on four factors: Najashi's belief in the validity of Hafs's religion, Hafs' transmission of special Imamate teachings, his use of Shia's specific interpretations, and the Imam's special view of him, Hafs bin Ghiyath can be considered a Shia narrator who, due to severe pressures Mali and according to possibility, due to the pressure of the government, he was assigned to the position of judge.
