Utilizing the exalted concepts and spiritual messages in the words of religious leaders necessitates providing an accurate translation that adheres to the latest translation standards. This is particularly significant in the context of Nahj al-Balaghah, as it plays a key role in spreading the culture of Ali (AS) and transmitting its teachings. Nahj al-Balaghah, as a masterpiece of literary prose, dissects expressions in the most precise manner within the framework of Arabic grammar rules. The study of prepositions, as one of the smallest syntactic components of the Arabic language, whose independence is maintained alongside other words, showcases a delicate web of connection in this unparalleled speech. This research seeks, through a descriptive-analytical approach, using various linguistic dictionaries and commentaries on Nahj al-Balaghah, to highlight the necessity of reflecting on the linguistic and semantic function of prepositions. Accordingly, five examples of phrases containing three-lettered verbal roots combined with prepositions were selected from the entirety of Nahj al-Balagha’s sermons. These were then examined and critiqued in five Persian translations of Nahj al-Balagha: those by Fayz al-Islam, Ansari, Shahidi, Zamani, and Dashti. The statistical report on the translators' performance in the selected examples showed that the translations by Fayz al-Islam and Ansari had the fewest errors, while those by Dashti and Shahidi exhibited the highest number of inaccuracies.
