From a long time until now, there have been controversies about the historical identity and personality of Salim, as well as the authenticity and validity of the book of Salim bin Qais in Shiite sources, especially the later sources. The narrations attributed to Salim bin Qais are of two types; The few and mostly short hadiths found in some primary sources, which (apart from the additional hadiths in al-Ghaibah Nu'mani) are all quoted by Omar bin Athina; And also the 70 and often long hadiths of the current books attributed to Salim, which (apart from Sheikh Tusi's documents) are all from Muammar bin Rashid. In the upcoming research, by examining the manuscripts of the books attributed to Salim, along with the formal report of the documents of Salim bin Qais, to the formal analysis of the documents of the manuscripts of the books attributed to Salim, in terms of "phrases and narrators of the documents, the types and statistical number of the documents, and also The historical precedence and delay of the documents" has been discussed. With the investigations that were done, it became clear that there are two types of documents and methods of Salim bin Qais in the manuscripts: the original documents that are in most manuscripts, and all of them are quoted by Muammar bin Rashid, and another document attributed to Shaykh al-Tusi and it is quoted by Umar bin Adhaina, and it exists only in a few of the later manuscripts.
